She-ra is South Africa’s newest platform that welcomes all female entrepreneurs to register their businesses and build an online platform at no cost.
The platform was formally launched at the #ECAfrica100 event in Sandton, Johannesburg on 28 November 2018. Founder of the platform, award winning Nihka Technologies CEO Yashmita Bhana says that she was inspired to start She-ra as a way to connect women led businesses to growth opportunities, and to realize their greatness.
“When the universe hands you a no, it’s a redirection to a higher purpose. In this ever increasingly digital world where time is limited, She-ra provides women entrepreneurs with more than a just website. It gives them an online collaboration tool for clients and entrepreneurs.”
She-ra is set to bring even more value to registered businesses in the coming months with the introduction of online tools that will enable in-the-cloud business resources. A ‘business-in-the-box’ solution, the online tools will help businesses manage the most important parts of their operations on one.
She-ra’s ultimate super power will be introduced to businesses as the platform grows. As the functionality grows, registered businesses will have access to e-commerce built in functionality that allows them to easily setup an online store and sell their products and services from within She-ra.
The She-ra brand was inspired by the fictional Princess of Power character Shera from a 1985 cartoon where she symbolized strength and agility. She outplayed her enemies through cunning and wit. These winning qualities are what founder Yashmita says will be the foundational pillars that drive the platform.
She-ra will be rolled out into African countries early into 2021 to grow and deepen the network.
